UNDER THE LAW.
Olivier has conducted numerous hearings and trials and has directly managed over thousands of criminal cases. He has extensive experience in interpreting and applying laws, court decisions and other legal authorities. Olivier is a zealous advocate and will not give up on any case. In a recent firearm possession case, where the District Attorney was staunchly seeking to incarcerate the defendant, Olivier’s strong research and preparation skills enabled him to successfully make arguments that ultimately dismissed the charge and avoided incarceration.
Olivier began his legal career with the Suffolk County District Attorney Office and was assigned to the District Court Bureau. He has prosecuted an array of misdemeanor offenses ranging from driving while intoxicated (DWI’s) to larcenies and drug offenses. Olivier was quickly promoted to a felony division in the Domestic Violence Bureau. There he prosecuted both felony and misdemeanor offenses specific to domestic violence. Additionally, he conducted Grand Jury presentations, interviewed and advised police officers, victims and witnesses in regard to case evaluation, assessment and took numerous cases to trial. He was personally responsible for a caseload in excess of six hundred cases. After spending a year in this division, he made the decision that he could better serve the community as a private attorney.
