- Fee waiver option available: If you are unable to afford the fees, you can request a fee waiver by submitting form I-912 along with your TPS and EAD applications by mail.
What Happens When TPS Designation Is About to Expire?
When a TPS designation is approaching its expiration, the Secretary of Homeland Security must decide whether to extend, redesignate, or terminate the TPS for the affected country. Several possible scenarios can unfold:

Termination: The Secretary may decide to terminate the TPS designation for a country if the underlying conditions have improved, making it reasonable for nationals to return safely. When TPS is terminated, affected individuals lose their protected status.
